The local varieties rice are palatable. Unfortunately most of farmer not interesting to grow it, because of lower yield, longer cultivation period, difficult to harvest (should be manual), unresponsive fertilizer, easy to fall, but the price gap is not much different compare with hybrid varieties. This condition becomes worse after Indonesia faced monetary crisis. It makes paddy local varieties become vulnerable.<br /><br />GO-CSR has collected some of local varieties such as Pandan Wangi, Peuteuy, Hawara Batu, Cikur, Beureum Seungit. Some organic matter used after have been composted by using <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/teruo_higa">EM-4</a>. <br /><br />Cultivation without chemical agent will produce the natural taste and more healthy.<br /><br /><strong>MARKETING</strong><br />With regard to retain our product in good quality, we keep the seed in <a href="http://gasolpertanianorganik.blogspot.com/2006/04/lumbung-padi_03.html">Leuit</a> (Sundanese traditional warehouse special for Paddy).
